| My home town is Yoshida-cho, Kitauwa-gun, Ehime.
My family home is going to be a hundred years old, judging that the
house was built when my grandfather was a small boy. The house is
an ordinary farmer house and I don’t think it special, but my
friends from overseas always enjoy being there. A person in this picture
is a son of whom I stayed with while I was studying in USA. His parents
had also stayed with us previously and I am happy to host their son
this time. During the World War II, my grandfather was sent to Myanmar
as a soldier, however, now the house is a place to nurture friendship
between the people once were called an enemy and us. I’d like
to thank the house though it is a bit old, appreciating our family
history shown on an each pillar. I hope you would visit us some day. |

| The main building of Dogo Hot Spring
is often said that it is very similar to one named ‘Yu
ya where ancient gods bathed and rested in a movie ‘Sen
to Chihiro’ (Spirited Away). As the movie was awarded
‘Academy Award’, it is quite well known to the kids
in USA and they can get DVD there of course. When I told this
to one of my friends, he told me that his children also have
the DVD. And he continued, when he goes back to USA, he would
see the DVD with his children and tell them he has seen the
‘Yu ya’ here in Matsuyama. A journey gives us roman
as movie does. But actually, I think ‘a person’
who travels or sees movies has roman. I like to be a romanticist
in a sense. |
